Alibaba, Bolloré ink global deal CHiNA’s giant Alibaba group and Bolloré group have inked a global partnership deal covering cloud services, innovation and digital transformation, clean energ y, mobility and logistics. The companies signed a Memo- randum of Understanding outlining the areas in which their respective business units and subsidiaries, including Alibaba Cloud, Cainiao Smart Logistic Network, Bolloré Logistics and Blue Solutions will co-operate in joint projects. In addition, the groups will share expertise and market knowledge to evaluate business opportunities in China, Europe and Africa. Main joint initiatives and projects include: *Cloud computing and innova- tion - Alibaba Cloud, the computing arm of Alibaba Group, will provide solutions to the Bolloré Group encompassing cloud computing capabilities, big data, artificial intel- ligence, content delivery network and security solutions. *Smart and clean mobility, clean energ y - Alibaba Group and Blue Solutions will co-develop solu- tions for Internet electric cars and buses, bringing the Internet expe- rience (voice control, multimedia, navigation and autonomous driv- ing) to transport. *The two companies will explore car-sharing solutions in China. *In an era when sustainability and electricity storage have become major concerns for citizens, cities and governments, the Bolloré Group already uses battery and electricity storage technologies to deliver solutions for the pro- duction, storage and smart con- sumption of electricity. Alibaba and Bolloré will consider clean energy solutions at Alibaba’s data centres worldwide. *Logistics - Bolloré Logistics and Cainiao Smart Logistics Network, the logistics business of Alibaba Group will identify joint opportuni- ties in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. *The two companies will share best practices and develop joint software and data management solutions.
