A seasoned international hotelier with more than 22 years’ experi- ence, he started out as a chef at several leading Austrian hotels before deciding to swap his chef’s whites for a suit and tie moving to Sochi, Russia and joining Capella Hotel Group as executive assistant manager. He moved to Asia in 2015 for the pre-opening of a new luxury prop- erty for the area. He then moved to Thailand and joined the Centara Hotel Group in Karon Beach as resi- dent manager. # Judith Kirana has recently joined Courtyard by Marriott Bali Sem- inyak Resort as marketing commu- nications manager, replacing Tri Widiyastuti who has resigned. Kirana moved from managing brand name stores like Todds, Lanvin, MCM and Givenchy interna- tional designer Farah Khan. Her previous hotel industry experience includes four years as a marketing executive at the Padma Resort Legian. # Australia’s Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has appointed Gert-Jan De Graaff, a former BAC senior executive and current pres- ident and chief executive of JFKIAT - the operator of Terminal 4 at John F Kennedy International Airport - to lead the company from June 2018. He will replace Julieanne Alroe, who will retire from the company. Prior to joining JFK in 2014 De Graaff held a variety of senior roles in Brazil, Stockholm-Arlanda Airport in Sweden and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the Netherlands. # Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has appointed David Falter as president of RoomIt, the company’s hotel distribution division. Scott Brennan, who led the launch phase of the business, will become chief growth officer of RoomIt. Falter most recently was presi- dent and chief executive of Antenna International and managing partner of Acorn Growth Partners. He also is a non-executive director at BizPay. # Monik Artajaya has been appoint- ed director of Sales for the Harper Kuta Bali, Indonesia. She will be responsible for sales team lead- ership, driving revenue, and sales execution. Artajaya’s career to date was mostly spent as a sales manager for several hotels in Bali, including the Aston Denpasar Hotel and Conven- tion Centre, Annora Villas Seminyak, Santika Hotel Kuta, and Double Six Luxury Hotel Seminyak. # The Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa and Langkawi International Convention Centre (LICC) has promoted Rajiv Kapoor to general manager. Kapoor joined the property in 2013 as hotel manager. In his new role, he is responsible for all areas of the hotel including future development of associates, product improvement, financial performance, profitability, brand compliance and guest satisfaction. # Scott MacDonald has been ap- pointed general manager of Court- yard by Marriott Sydney - North Ryde. He will oversee all areas of the hotel’s day-to-day operations, sales and administration, as well as associate development and team management. MacDonald’s career com- menced with Marriott Interna- tional in 1998 at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast. His most recent position was executive assistant manager of Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast. # Crystalbrook Collection has appointed Joel Gordon as the general manager of its first hotel, Riley, which will open in Far north Queensland in August 2018. In addition to filling the role of general manager for Riley, he has also been named area manager, Cairns, responsible for the open- ing and operation of Crystalbrook Collection’s second and third ho- tels, Bailey and Flynn, scheduled to open 2019 and 2020 respectively. In his role he will oversee a team of more than 500 people. Most recently Gordon was the hotels general manager of Doma Group’s Hotel Realm and Burbury Hotel & Apartments.
