Byrne has had 14 years as chief exec- utive of three different companies. Most recently, he was the ceo of Coates Hire. He has a Master of Science in Transpor- tation and Infrastructure from the Uni- versity of Denver as well as management training at the University of Virginia and the MIT Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. John Mullen has been appointed exec- utive chairman for Toll. # DHL has appointed Alfred Goh as regional head of Customer Solutions and Innovation (CSI) Asia Pacific. He will also maintain his position as presi- dent of Fast Growing Enterprises. # David Clark is to join Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) as global head of Safety and Security. Clark will take up his new post 27 February 2017, based in Paris. He joins WFS after spending more than 17 years with British Airways, where he has held various senior management roles in En- gineering and Ground Operations. Most recently, he ran the Ground Operations safety, quality and training functions globally, working with the airline’s in- house ground handling teams, ground service providers, partner airlines and IATA. # Stephan Heessels, 49, is the new Beumer Group global director for logistic David Clark Stephan Heessels systems, based out of the company’s headquarters in Beckum, Germany. In this role, he controls and co-ordi- nates the international centre of compe- tence for this division. Originally from the Netherlands, he is responsible for world- wide sales of the broad product portfolio and the strategic development of the in- ternational CEP (Courier-Express-Parcel), mail-order business and retail distribution markets. Since 2013, Heessels has held a leadership position at Beumer Group in the logistic systems division. He complet- ed his studies in the Netherlands, and received degrees in mechanical engineer- ing in Hertogenbosch and in business administration in Utrecht. # Turkish Airlines has appointed Tur- han Özen as its chief cargo officer. He previously worked with TNT Logistics and Ceva Logistics. # Phil Baker has been appointed chairman of logistics industry lobby group South Australian Freight Council (SAFC). Baker, a former managing director of Adelaide Airport, is also chairman of the Adelaide Convention Bureau, a director of Flinders Ports Holdings (operating the Port of Adelaide and six regional SA ports), a director of Re- newal SA and director of Port Hedland International Airport Group of Compa- nies. # Marcel de Nooijer has been appointed executive vice president Air France-KLM Cargo. He also will join the Air France-KLM Group Executive Committee. He joined KLM in 1995 and has since worked in positions at Dutch carrier KLM and its cargo division as well as at Air France-KLM .
