She replaces Aubrey Tiedt who has moved to a new role as chief customer officer at Alitalia. Celestino has more than 25 years’ ex- perience in the airline industry having held senior positions in her native Australia and the Middle East, as well as being president of the New York-based Airline Passenger Experience Association. Most recently, she was general manager inflight services and product at Oman Air. Celestino started her career as cabin crew at Ansett Australia, progressing to become a senior manager in Guest Services and Guest Experience. # Ian Gay, a former Qantas state manager in Western Australia, has been appointed chairman of Australia’s North West Tourism (ANW), replacing Chris Ellison. Ellison stepped down from the position following the expiration of his fixed five- year term. He had served as chairman of the tourism marketing body since leaving the Australian Senate in 2009. # Charlie Dang has been appointed regional vice president Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide for Southeast Asia. He will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans for the company’s growth and development across countries in Southeast Asia, which includes Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. He will also oversee the operations and financial performance of Starwood hotels in the region as well as further build relationships with key stakeholders. # Frasers Hospitality has confirmed two new senior appointments in its sales and marketing department. Both appoint- ments coincide with the group launching the Capri by Fraser brand in Australia with a new Brisbane property to open in March. Annette MacAndrew has been ap- pointed director of sales and marketing for Australia following a five year role as vice president of sales and marketing for Ishin Hotels Group in Japan. Effective immediately, Sydney-based MacAndrew will oversee all sales and marketing for the group in Australia. Naomi Ademokun has been appointed director of sales and marketing for Capri by Fraser Brisbane. Ademokun joins Frasers Hospitality from Oaks Hotels and Resorts, where she was responsible for driving MICE business for the group. # Atanas Botev has been appointed general manager of Australia’s Stamford Plaza Adelaide hotel. London and Oxford University educated, Atanas has spent the major percentage of his career in London. Immediately prior to relocating to Adelaide, he held management positions at London’s iconic five-star Mayfair Hotel with 404 rooms, cinema and casino, where he oversaw preparation and exe- cution of the hotel’s Olympics strategy. # Pietro Delpechitra has been appoint- ed director of client services at Austral- ia’s Darwin Convention Centre (DCC). A specialist in lighting operation and design, during his time at Hamilton Island to date, he has worked on events including Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, Clash of the Paddle, New Years Eve and the Australi- an Ballet at Qualia. # Andre Jacques has been appointed director of sales and marketing for The Langham, Melbourne. Originally from Brisbane, his most recent roles have involved opening new hotels in Melbourne, Doha and Washington D.C . Andre was responsible for the sales and marketing of the Middle East’s first St Regis property, the St Regis Doha as well as launching the St Regis Washington D.C . Prior to his overseas posts, Jacques was Sydney-based as director of sales and mar- keting for Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas. # The city of Wellington, New Zealand has appointed Sydney-based Sling and Stone as its publicity agency. Sling and Stone will handle media pro- motion for talent and business investment for Wellington, which recently topped the BBC’s list of hottest cities to live in 2015. # Award-winning hotel, Crown Towers in Melbourne has promoted Ashleigh Mac- donald to chief concierge. A member of Les Clefs d’Or, Macdonald is the first female member appointed from Melbourne in fifteen years. # Selina Chavry has assumed the new role of regional director, Asia for Pacific World. In addition to her responsibilities over Singapore and Malaysia, Selina will take direct management of the Thailand, Indo- china, China, Hong Kong and Indonesia businesses.
