With the program developed and key sponsors confirmed, Tourism Fiji’s director of events Sally Cooper says 25 buyers from long-haul markets have already registered and 120 exhibitors are confirmed to attend the event. Tourism Fiji will host the official welcome ceremony and the Victoria Food Wines Festival will be the opening night event. A new conference and events facility at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa will be launched on the second day of the Expo. A ‘Fork and Walk’ Gala dinner will close the FTE 2016. “By working closely with our industry partners, we have put empha- sis on ensuring international buyers get the best experience over the three days of the Expo,” said Cooper. “The success of an event like FTE hinges on the level of support we get from the industry and right now Fiji is in a good place in terms of the willingness of the industry to work as a team to market Fiji as a compete tourism destination to the global travel market.” Red Bull ‘posed ice challenges’ GermAny-based events and live-marketing company Vok Dams creativity was at its best for the Jeep @ red Bull mega event at a recent munich winter sports promotion. Staff created a special speed jump with a length 370 metres, 55 metres difference in altitude, for up to 50 km an hour speeds and jumps as high as 20 metres, posing the ultimate challenge for the best skaters in the world. The Olympic mountain was location for the second red- Bull-Crashed-Ice-Wm -run of the season. The athletes, who raced through an ice channel full of obstacles, had to give all they had. While the skaters went to the starting line, the audience were able to test out the off-road abilities of the newest Jeep models at a special off-road course.
